We LOVE a classically chic city wedding at the best of times, but Laura and Daniel’s autumnal Art Deco inspired wedding has us swooning! This stylish wedding had just the right amount of vintage flair mixed with an understated luxurious vibe that has set our hearts-a-flutter!
Laura and Daniel, met in a West London pub five years ago and the rest, as they say, is history! This happy couple (despite meeting by chance in the big smoke) grew up only a couple of miles from each other in Cheshire! It was a chance meeting that was meant to be! In 2021 Daniel popped the question whilst the couple were on holiday in Venice, and they quickly began planning the wedding of their dreams.
Laura and Daniel’s wedding took place on the 1st of October 2022 surrounded by all their friends and family. As Laura and Daniel live in Kensal Rise, London, they chose to tie the knot in the architecturally stunning Hackney Town Hall. Known for its amazing Art Deco grandeur, this incredible grade II listed building with its curved staircases and opulent chandeliers was the perfect venue for this stylish couple.
Laura and Daniel wanted to let the beautiful Art Deco features of the venue take centre stage, so they deliberately kept the rest of their wedding classical and simple. Laura chose a gorgeous autumnal palate of seasonal flowers for her wedding look, created by amazing florist Catherine Short. Autumn is such a beautiful season for wedding blooms and the deep colours perfectly complemented the venue’s rich and luxurious vibe.
Laura wore ‘Riva’ by Sassi Holford for her big day. Laura said that she knew instantly from the moment she tried on Riva that she was the perfect dress, thanks to all her striking textures and unique design.
Riva has a gorgeous deep plunging V neckline, a pretty keyhole back and long chic sleeves made from the finest duchess satin. Contrasting with her sleek satin bodice, Riva’s skirt is made from the most amazing ombre pearl beaded tulle. She is simply exquisite.
Laura said she adored the simple lines and classic structure of Riva’s top and the beautiful beading of the skirt. In fact, Laura loved the beaded tulle so much she tapped into our extensive knowledge of Sassi’s designs to customise Riva and bring the beaded detail of the skirt to the sleeves too! We LOVE how Laura switched up the look to make it her own!
Laura kept her accessories minimal choosing to wear some gold and pearl Art Deco earrings that her mum had given her and finished off her look with a couple of delicate Hermione Harbutt hair pins which she chose from our selection at LOVE.

Laura said some of her highlights from their special day were:
“At the end of the ceremony, we walked back down the aisle and into a glass lift so we could wave to all our friends and family below. It was a super surprise for everyone. I loved dancing the night away to our fantastic band with my favourite people in the whole world and of course marrying the love of my life.”
Laura and Daniel’s top tip for other soon-to-be-married couples is to seriously consider using a wedding planner. Laura and Daniel worked with the wonderful wedding planner Martha Tobyn founder of Anemonestyle. Known for her enviable black book of the best suppliers in London, this happy couple said they couldn’t have wished for a better day thanks to Martha’s help and expertise. Laura also recommends that brides get a change of shoes to dance the night away! We couldn’t agree more!
