We LOVE seeing what our fave designers have up their bridal sleeves for the new wedding season! Nothing makes our hearts flutter like fashion-forward thinking and bridal brilliance. So, what does 2024 have in store for next year’s brides-to-be? We’ve rounded up seven of the most heavenly bridal trends to hit the catwalk this season! Along with our predictions for designers that will give these trends an extra edge, if you’re looking for the hottest look for your wedding day then hold on to your veils ladies, as you’re in for a totally on-trend treat!

2024 Wedding Dress Trends

Deconstructed Designs

The bridal sphere is embracing change and with it comes a new wedding wardrobe that is a total breath of fresh air! From daring deconstructed details (we will see more of that beautiful, exposed boning) to stylish wedding separates, there’s a strong contemporary and modern aesthetic in 2024 that firmly moves away from traditional and formal styles. With the demand for more-than-one-occasion wedding wear and with more brides looking for styles that are unconventional, we can expect designers like Lola Varma to be unveiling more undeniably different dresswear. Lola Varma’s avant-guard approach has already firmly established her position as the modern alternative to bridal gowns. She is the queen of stylish separates, simple clean lines and just perfect for the unconventional bride.

Pin Thin Straps

The spaghetti strap is sweet, but 2024 is all about the ‘pin thin strap’ and its wonderful whisper thin delicateness. Simple and exquisite, the pin-thin strap is the epitome of perfectly precious detailing wrapped up with understated elegance. We just LOVE this ‘barely there’ look with its clean, classical vibe and expect to see these slight straps on all types of silhouettes. A fan of using delicate lace and ethereal styling, designer Savannah Miller might just be the one to watch when it comes to pin thin strap perfection. Watch this space.

Sheath Dresses

Sexy, simple and classic, the sheath dress is back in a big way in 2024! The sheath dress oozes elegance in an understated way. It’s THE style to show off your curves thanks to its form-fitting fabulousness. Fitted around the bodice then draping from the hips into a straight cut skirt, the sheath is a popular choice for every type of wedding. Savannah Miller designs naturally lean towards the sheath silhouette using soft feminine fabrics, heavyweight crepe and silky satins to create her unique flowing style. Her 2024 collection is all about embodying the movement of fabric and we are certainly seeing this with her extraordinary designs incorporating lots of texture and flow.

Plunging necklines

Plunging necklines are predicted to be as popular as ever in 2024 as more and more brides are seeking a sexy yet sophisticated vibe for their big day. A deep V neckline is extremely flattering and works with all kinds of silhouettes and bridal styles. We just LOVE Australian designer Made with Love who’s daring deep V necklines and illusion cut outs continue to keep everyone swooning.  With the option to tweak necklines to fit your comfort level plus a huge variety of options to aid style and support, if you’re wanting to have a jaw-dropping next level neckline then this designer might just be your perfect choice.

Statement sleeves

Sleeves

From dramatically drapey to billowing beauties the statement sleeve is continuing to make a serious comeback and we’re all rather thrilled by it! Our designers have kept a close eye on this trend with the likes of Made with Love, Sassi Holford and Lola Varma including lots of sexy sleeve action to some of their more recent designs. Removable sleeves give brides the option to switch between sleeve or sleeveless looks throughout their day and everyone is loving the versatility (and variety) available. We are also thrilled (excited squeals) to welcome a new designer to our boutique this December called & For Love. We happen to know that & For Love have an epic selection of sleeves to tickle everyone’s fancy! So, expect EVEN more sumptuous sleeves in store! From simple and delicate to big and bold and everything in between – we simply can’t wait!

Convertible Looks

Why have one look when you can have two or three? Multiple looks are à la mode!  Picking THE dress is fun but adding other exquisite pieces to give you different looks throughout your big day is totally topping the trend charts in 2024! From detachable skirts, wings or sleeves to adding belts, capes or jackets, switching up your look never felt so chic! With designers building more versatility in to their designs and bulking up their accessories range, we can expect even more dreamier detachable elements and off the chart accessories that will add the perfect touch to every dress! The choices are going to be insane!

Hot off the press: Made with Love has literally just launched their ‘Never Before’ collection at New York Bridal Fashion Week and this collection is dedicated to this very trend, with each of their five new gowns offering a ‘convertible’ look. Dresses are on their way to LOVE as we speak!

Mini Dresses

Walking down the aisle might have traditionally seen long gowns taking centre stage but in 2024 the mini is about to have its moment! We’ve seen a shorter hemline on the rise (literally) with many brides choosing removable skirts which allow them to go ‘mini’ after their vows. But for bolder brides looking to embrace some thigh skimming fabulousness throughout their wedding day, we expect to see more playful designers max the mini movement. We are oh so excited to have Made with Love’s Poppy in store already, with her beautifully beaded corset and stunning Mikado mini skirt! We expect to be adding even more minis to our boutique in 2024 as more brides welcome this trend.

We LOVED seeing the trends hitting the catwalk and can’t wait to get our hands on some of the top styles and latest designs to be released in 2024. If you’re a bride-to-be planning an autumn 2024 (or early 2025) wedding, then our advice is to get your appointment booked now! (If you’re getting married in Spring/Summer 2024 then do still get in touch as we can still help you even if it is a rush order). By booking in with us early it’s the best way to guarantee you’ll be in plenty of time to order from our range of new and exciting designs heading to LOVE!
