Kim and Minesh had a rather non-traditional start to coupledom. Meeting in December 2019, their dating plans took an unexpected twist when, a mere 3 months after meeting, the world went into lockdown. Thankfully, not even a global pandemic could stand in the way of this true love story! Kim and Minesh made the decision to move in together and two years later, in July 2021, Minesh popped the question!
Kim and Minesh finally tied the knot on the 23rd of June 2023. After enjoying a traditional Indian wedding celebration two weeks beforehand, this happy couple prepared to say their vows at Styal Lodge, surrounded by the beautiful Cheshire countryside. Kim and Minesh chose a summery, relaxed theme for their wedding, which worked perfectly with Styal Lodge’s light and airy spaces and their beautiful grounds.
Kim chose a subtle floral-inspired theme to bring her summer wedding to life. Her bridesmaids wore elegant flowing gowns embellished with pretty florals and on the tables her mum had hand painted dainty flowers on to each guests place name. With a stunning bridal bouquet by expert florist Jill Naughton, that was absolutely bursting with summery pinks, purples, whites and greens, this was an unforgettable look just perfect to embrace the season’s shades. The spectacular floral theme continued into the venue, which was awash with sweet smelling avalanche roses, blue delphiniums, while lisianthus, eucalyptus and lilac limonium. The whole place looked and smelled simply divine!
On her wedding day, Kim chose to wear Sassi Holford’s Phoebe gown. This totally romantic dress captured Kim’s heart the moment she saw her on our Insta feed. When she heard we were holding a Sassi Holford Trunk Show, she got in touch to see if Phoebe would be part of the collection. She was, and the rest as they say is history!
When Kim tried Phoebe on, she just knew this was THE dress. Phoebe really is one-of-a-kind. She is a tulle delight. With a full floaty tulle skirt, structured bodice and beautiful tulle bell sleeves. She’s feminine, flowing and most importantly flattering from all angles with her deep plunging neckline and delicate button detailing at the back. But it’s Phoebe’s pearls that steal the show. She is adorned from head to toe in the prettiest pearls that catch the light beautifully. Kim accessorised with simple pearl drop earrings and pearl adorned pins in her hair. The resulting look was perfect.
Kim had these kind words to say about her experience at LOVE.
“It was AMAZING. I absolutely adored the whole process. Emma made the entire experience very special. The shop is really beautiful, and you are surrounded by the most gorgeous dresses. I came with my mum, and my sister who lives abroad, was able to join us via Facetime at a couple of my appointments which meant the world to me. All the little touches, from the welcome sign that greets you at each visit, to the advice and guidance given during your appointment – you are made to feel very special which is what you want as a bride-to-be. I felt very lucky.”
Kim said some of the highlights of their special day were:
“Getting ready with my mum, sister (MOH) and 5 bridesmaids. My husband and I have said that we loved the ceremony because we felt like it was just the two of us in that special moment. Not to take anything away from having all of our favourite people, from across the world, together in one room. Guests had come to the UK from New Zealand, South America, Asia, and many different countries in Europe too. This was a huge highlight and very special to us.
We had also arranged for Dhol players to play us into the entrance to the wedding breakfast, which was a surprise for most guests (including our families), and it was SO much fun. Everyone got up from their seat and came and joined us as we danced our way into the wedding breakfast room.”
Kim and Minesh also shared their top tips for other couples planning their wedding:
“Try and do most of your big jobs (booking suppliers, outfits, presents etc) as early on as possible because all the fiddly jobs that you can’t do until closer to your wedding take up so much time. The biggest piece of advice is to try and enjoy the planning – there will be painful moments but enjoy it and soak every minute up because after your wedding day is over, you will really wish you could do it all again!”
